Local Rules

These local rules are to be read in conjunction with the rules of golf.
Additional local rules may be posted by match commitee.
  1. Stones in Bunkers
    Stones in bunkers are moveable obstructions Rule 24-1.

  2. Fixed Sprinklers
    All fixed sprinkler heads are moveable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 24-2. In addition if such an obstruction on or within two club lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may obtain refief as follows: if the ball lies off the putting green, but not in a hazard and is within two club lengths of the intervening obstruction, it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay which (a) is not the hole, (b) avoids such intervention and, (c) is not in a hazard or on a putting green.

  3. Ground Repair
    The nursery green by the top left hand side of the 4th and left hand side of the 5th fairways, the three practice greens, and all areas with 'GUR' signs or any area marked by white paint lines are ground under repair and the player shall no play his ball from, or take his stance in such ground. He must take relief under Rule 25-1(b). Penalty for breach of local rule match play - loss of hole; stroke play 2 strokes.

  4. Immovable Obstruction (Rule 24-2)

    1. All shelter sheds and tee area fences.

    2. All trees and shrubs under two club lengths in height - or staked (irrespective of height) which interfere with a players stance or the area of his intended swing.

    3. All defined roads and paths.

    4. The safety fence on the right side of the 8th tee and right side of the 9th tee.

    5. All tap covers and electrical boxes.

    6. All tee information signs.

    7. All garden beds/flower as defined in 2010 document.

    8. All coral fences, bordering 10th green, 2nd, 11th, 15th & 16th tees.

  5. Course Boundaries (Rule 33-2)
    The boundary line of the course is the inside line of the fences or as defined in local rule.

  6. Out of Bounds
    All course boundaries. The car park which includes fencing. The south side of Dandenong Creek beyond the eroded earth bank. Right side of 8th fairway commencing northern end of safety fence, as indicated by white stakes, to beyond water hazards & garden bed. All area out of bounds. The Curator's sheds, material and equipment areas adjacent to the 8th and 9th has indicated by markers. The practice fairway outside the out of bounds markers to the right of the 9th fairway. The dam ajoining the 15th, 16th and 17th holes, and adjacent garden beds, defined by the dam fence and staked garden areas. Where no stakes are present, the dam fence defines out of bounds.

  7. Lateral Water Hazards (Rule 26-1)

    1. All areas within the watercourse of the Dandenong Creek (defined by the eroded earth bank on course side and boundary line on south side).

    2. Within concrete drain on 4th fairway.

Note: Sprinkler head distance measurements are to front of Green
